Saturday, November 8th, 2008 - 5th Annual Wrightsville Beach Sea Kayak Race: We once again had an outstanding race and raised over $2500 for the NC Coastal Land Trust. Our 47 participants were treated to blue skis and breezy conditions. Jim Smith of Wilmington took top honors in the 6-mile main event and Curry Guinn of Carolina Beach won the 3-mile fun race. For all the results, see the links below. Matt Lewis of Wilmington was the lucky winner of the kayak in the raffle. Thanks again to all who competed and volunteered. A big thanks to Great Outdoor Provision Company and all their many vendors for the generous raffle donations, especially Hurricane Aquasports. We are looking at potential locations for a 2009 race, so stay tuned.
